About Our Owner
Frederick So Hunter is the owner of ESO harlem. He's a visionary entrepreneur. His passions and interests cover a wide range of topics from design to art, from fashion to food and entertainment. Born and raised in Harlem, his home in the Big Apple, Frederick has had a sense of direction and inner drive ever since he was very young.
Frederick established his first business in Harlem in 2004. It was called Denim Library, and it was known as a flagship store and the original hub for premium jeans. He was committed to carrying authentic merchandise. His campaign against jean counterfeiters — "Quiet Please, Study Denimology" was the mantra that made Denim Library one of the most respected independent retail stores in New York City. He set the bar for jeans and built strong relationships with people in the music, fashion, and art communities.
Starting a Restaurant
Fast forward to 2010, the same year Frederick's A$AP brothers (business partners and associates) gained notice in the music industry. He was successfully working in music and fashion management with well-known artists and a highly publicized streetwear brand. But the opportunity to purchase a long-term lease was too good to be true. At that point, Frederick transitioned into the restaurant business.
Indeed, it was a blessing. Frederick started ESO harlem because he believes that food brings people together. ESO harlem is a place for enjoying fantastic food and convivial company. Frederick would love to see you stop by for dinner and drinks.
